Guest paulsmith Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Hi, Im having problems with the new modaco ROM v2.9 Wi-fi teather seems to crash upon startup - dialog box saying its been closed comes up. Tried rebooting the phone - but didn't fix it. Used to work in my previous custom modaco Rom. Any ideas or anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Guest DanH48 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 You both might want to try pushing it to the phone again. You can do this with HTC sync. First download the APK http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-teth...amp;q=HTC+Donut Check Phone allows unknown sources in the applications menu on phone Connect phone to HTC sync and use application installer.
Guest hp1 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Apologies for the minor hijack but I was curious as to whether anyone has managed to get this WIFI tether app to work on the updated Orange ROM? I've tried but no success (yes my phone is rooted). Why does it work on MCR but not Orange/HTC?
Guest paulsmith Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Thanks for the replies. I use ubuntu linux not MS windows - so HTC Sync is a bit useless for me. I will just try downloading it on the phone and running it from there. Will let you all know how I get on.
Guest paulsmith Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 This didn't fix the issue either.
Guest scuj1 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 In the same boat here. Ever since 2.8, this always force closes. Even after downloading the apk.
Guest jgtthd Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 This didn't fix the issue either. i had the same problem, just uninstal WiFi tether from your app manager and reinstal is from the android market and works fine or atleast this worked fine for me :)
Guest Killbox Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I have the same problem. I have to reinstall it every time I want to use it. Very annoying.
