Guest NickVL Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Does anyone have/know where I can get a straight-up, release version of the 6.5 ROM? I don't need a ton of extra stuff someone else thinks is important, and I don't need everything removed either. Maybe a happy medium? Actually a plain 6.5 with no/very little customizations would be fine. I am currently running someones (can't remember off the top of my head right now) 6.5, but it is an older version. Thanks in advance for any help.

My ROM, I think, is the least customized (some like it and some don't), I don't add anything that can be added in a cab and currently I have 164MB free out of 174MB with the latest builds and tweaks. But as I've said before they are all great- Why don't you try a few and find out for yourself?

How do I download and install your base 6.5? Is that what they mean by 'cooking'? Am I 'cooking' when I install a new rom? Thanks from a newbie.

You can see what version you have by going to menu-settings-system-about. Most new phones come with CF03 installed. If you have another version, you need to flash it to CF03 To flash to CF03 go HERE Once done and your phone has CF03 installed you need to get the UMDL tool and the Samsung driver from HERE After installing the driver, connect your phone to your computer, and make sure your sync through USB option in your activesync is NOT checked. Download any ROM you like. (They are all .bin files so they have a very slim chance of damaging your phone) Run UMDL, hit PDA and choose the bin file you want. Hit detect and restart your phone. Let it do its thing. Congrats you now have a new ROM installed!
