ok, born from the verbose bootscreen idea there was the fake verbose bootscreen idea, credit goes here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4912469

this is what i came up with in a quick session, i think there is much room for improvement. if anybody likes to contribute, i would be glad for creative support :D

apply the zip as update.zip, make a nandroid backup before just in case. to make it easier to revert i attached a zipfile with the original files in them to revert to original, one with the sounds activated, one silent.

please tell me what you think :)

if anybody has some animated fingerprint scanner pictures that would be great, i would like to have a fake fingerprint scanner during bootup :D

if you could give us a site where you can download, obviously i can not test what is blocked in your country and what not...

If your trying to download using your phone you need to long press it and save link otherwise just comes up blank screen I think thats were your problem lies.

strange, no more reasons given? i did try this archive, however i did not try to download it from this forum again and flash it. could someone confirm it is working? i forgot my hero at home today... :)

Works fine...nice touch. I am using Amon Ra 1.2.3 also.

Just open the .ZIP and view the .GIF files in Internet Explorer.

like stevenz said, just have a look at the zip files by dragging them into a browser window (this way you'll see the animation).

i haven't worked on this one much further, it is just too much work aligning all the frames as layers in gimp, and i don't know a better way. i have been fiddling around with some really nice "herologo+androids" animations from (iirc) hikari's rom, but i need some more time on that, as it doesn't show up properly on the phone.

any tips on gif editors or gif editing are welcome ;)

Hey Kendon, cool work.

I have added a voice over to the boot screen. Speaks everything displayed on the screen. This is my first attempt at something android. Hope it is liked!
