Guest sodenoshirayuki Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Yesterday, I was using my phone like normal, everything was cool, 3 hours charging time, full battery, no problems. The I tried to sync with my laptop like i do every other day. Didnt work. Tried to soft reset my phone and restart my laptop, still wouldnt work. So that okay, my phone had full batteries anyways and my a/c adapter is currently busted, so my only option is to charge on laptop. For some reason, it wouldn't charge, but like I said, its fine, it's full batteries. Keep in mind it was synced to my laptop a couple hours before that, before I had to go out. In the morning, there was about 15% battery left, and in a rush to get to work, I only had 1/2 an hour to charge. That gave me a good 40% to get to work and charge there. At work, I forgot about charging and it got to lunch time, when my phone completely shut off. tried charging on the work computer, wouldn't work. I got home, tried the laptop again, it worked. But the problem is, the god damn thing's been charging for the last 6-7 hours and its still only at 80% battery. What the heck just happened?

Guest rigor.m Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 It's not a good idea to rely only on the USB cable to charge your Omnia... It will never fully charge ( green light ) and it may refuse to charge the phone if the battery is dead. The problem is not with Omnia's battery, the problem is the way you charge it .
Guest sodenoshirayuki Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks for the replies guys. So if I were to get another AC adapter, everything should be fine?
Guest Billus Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Yea. Just make sure you don't have the "don't charge when connected to PC" selected in the Battery settings.
Guest DeeinSouthAfrica Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Yea. Just make sure you don't have the "don't charge when connected to PC" selected in the Battery settings. Interesting. I have had my Omnia since January and I think have charged using the adapter about twice in all that time. In fact, I don't know where the darn thing is anymore.
Guest victaaaa Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 so its not good to charge with the usb cable?
Guest DeeinSouthAfrica Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 I have not had a problem but then that's me. The only thing to do is try charging with the USB for a while and if it doesn't charge to 100% go back and use your adapter.
