Guest Shahz Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hey guys, Found this on the net: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/h...r-htc-hero.html and even more powerful http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/h...r-in-white.html It is said that Mugen has a very strong profile in extended batteries. 3200mah would be awesome to have! But I don't want to risk my Hero over 3rd party without any testimonials. Anyone has tried this so far?

Never tried their batteries, but I do like that battery cover with the protective door for the camera.
Guest Shahz Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Indeed..It sure does look graceful..But I'm worried about the battery..
Guest Keramidas Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 According to the description, it is a lithium-polymer battery. I'm not a battery expert, but it looks like good news because - as far as I know - lithium-polymer has slightly less power density, but is safer (very low risk of overheating) than lithium-ion. Please, someone backup my claim :)

Guest Shahz Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I found this for some supporting material.. http://www.ultralifebatteries.com/engineers.php?ID=4 I wonder if we can switch Li-ion and Li-Po batteries..
Guest Carl_Brummy Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 According to the description, it is a lithium-polymer battery. I'm not a battery expert, but it looks like good news because - as far as I know - lithium-polymer has slightly less power density, but is safer (very low risk of overheating) than lithium-ion. Please, someone backup my claim :D Lithium polymer is newer and has almost no residual memory affect although I have seen somewhere that they dont have as many recharge cycles as Li-Ion batteries, but have longer stamina from the same density, hence 1550mAh over 1400mAh from the standard battery. I think the 3200mAh is huge, and sadly only available with a white cover :) I have the grey hero.
Guest keefsloan Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I've got one of the Mugen 1550mAh on order. It left HK on the 5th November so it should be here anyday now. I'll report back when I get it and make some use of it. I made the mistake of ordering a Seidio Hero battery which, I discovered only after receiving it, only fits the US CDMA HERO!! Arse. And, to add insult to injury, I received an invoice from Fedex today charging me another £10 import duty on the battery AND a £10 admin fee. That means that Seidio battery cost me nearly USD$100. Ridiculous. Luckily I've got a Touch Pro 2 owning colleague who's going to have it. Lesson learnt I guess.
Guest Shahz Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Whow..Thats a lot of money spent on a battery..LOL Paul, have you used the Mugen battery? Any testimonials? I'm really considering buying one. Maybe the 3200mAh if there's no problems with it..
Guest stylishlegends Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 :D does anyone know if the battery will be available for the CDMA Sprint HTC Hero phones? would be nice to have a long lasting battery :)
Guest FenriZ Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 What do you think about this alternative product? http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002VEFHFG/ Anyone heard of it? Anyone got it already? I can't seem to find more info on the net. It sure is a pricebreaker at 15 Pounds for 3000mAh...

Anyone got it already? I can't seem to find more info on the net. It sure is a pricebreaker at 15 Pounds for 3000mAh... Looking at the amazon page for that battery, the heading says 3000mAh, but the description states 2800. Either way, the battery is going to last a while. I purchased a 2200mAh battery with cover from eBay for £12 and it is really good despite the extra bulk. I can easily get 4 days use out of it if I minimise my internet usage.
Guest FenriZ Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Just wanted to let you know that my new battery has arrived yesterday. It is in fact a 3000mAh-model and it works very well. The Hero seems a bit bulgy now, but I am willing to pay that small price for extended operating time. The battery is still untrained, but after 24h of heavy usage incl. 3G and Wifi, listening to some music via the speaker, some calls, mail via K9 push and twittering via Twidroid it is still at 50%. Normally I would have had to load the battery already. I guess the performance will get even better over the next days once the battery is fully trained. Cheers, fenriz. Guest Paul Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I have used Mugen batteries and they've always been awesome. The standard size 1550mAh is appealing! P

Guest MrBackslash Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Did anyone have any feed back on the Mugen Power 1550mAh Extended Replacement Battery For HTC Hero (GSM) Link Thanks - Tony I have this battery for 3 weeks now. But i can not say that the operating time is much better. I have to charge my Hero every day like before.
Guest lwyc Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 what sort of extra weight and size is suffered with the extra battery size? does it make the phone less pocket friendly?
Guest chris leonard Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 :: bump :: I also would like to know how much bigger / heavier the 3200mah battery makes the Hero. I carry my phone in the "outside" pocket of carpenter's jeans and am wondering if it would still fit nicely. Any comments from someone who owns one of these? Thanks!
