Guest leinad Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Hy everybody I've some questions regarding Fastboot, and dit not succeed in finding answers (I searched everywhere, without success) When entering Fastboot mode on my HTC Hero, I get a screen with several information, and two choices : ============================= HERO CVT SHIP S-ON HBOOT-1.76.0007 (HERO10000) MICROP-010f TOUCH PANEL-SYN0104 RADIO-6.35.06.18 Aug 4 2009, 19:43:30 FASTBOOT <VOL DOWN> HBoot Mode <MENU> Reset Device ============================= Could anybody explain me what are those two choices intended to ? Does "Reset Device" choice return my device to factory settings ? And, last question, HOW CAN I REBOOT MY DEVICE (the only solution I found is removing the battery) ? Thank you for your help, and best regards. Leinad.

However, this does not explain the two choices <VOL DOWN> HBoot Mode <MENU> Reset Device which are proposed in the fastboot screen. And the explanantion given in the second URL apply to other HTC Android devices (MAGIC or DREAM), released before the HTC HERO. Is there somewhere same information for HTC HERO ?

Is there somewhere same information for HTC HERO ? this is not exactly trivial stuff, maybe you should look around the android documentation or something. afaik reset device means restart, not wipe. not sure though. the fastboot commands are valid for the hero aswell, except there is not yet a known method to change the boot splash.
