Hi All,

I think this is probably my first post on here. So firstly I just want to thank everyone for their hard work and insight.

Right to my issue. I have a t-mobile G1 and a t-mobile G2 touch (Hero) and for some reason google search by voice is in the market on my G1 but it's not there on my G2 (Hero) I used this all the time on my G1 and found it invaluable but I don't understand why it doesnt appear in the app market for the G2. Both phones are t-mobile branded units and I have rooted and tried most ROMs on each of them but even when I had the stock 1.5 rom on the G1 google search by voice was there. I have done some research but most of the questions surrounding this talk about people who purchased Hero's in one country and use them in another. Both my units are UK t-mobile units and both are used in the UK by me :)

If anyone could shed some light on this it would be appreciated. Or even provide the apk with the speech library that would be great.

Oh and I am currently running the Madaco 2.9 core rom on my hero just to get the voice search option.

Sorry if this info has already been posted, I have searched high and low but still can find the answer to this.

Keep up the good work :D

Think that you might of posted this in the wrong section, this is a specific forum for the Tmobile Pulse.

There is already a subforum for the Hero, this would be your best place to post this.

But this section is the 'You Are Here » Android @ MoDaCo » Device Specific » HTC Hero - Hero.MoDaCo.com » google search by voice in UK app market?' surely that is the right section?

Anyway.... Anyone, anyone!! any ideas about this?

:)

This is the right section - the 'G2' name is confusing as the US HTC Magic phones were also labelled G2 etc., but in the UK the G2 Touch is definitely 100% an HTC Hero with a T-Mobile logo at the top of the screen!

I've got a G2 Touch and I also didn't have Google Voice in the UK app store on any rom (stock or MCR). The only reason I have it on my phone is cos it was installed with MCR 2.9.

I know that doesn't strictly answer your question, but at least confirms that it's not just you.
