Guest cruddasj Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Hello all. I was just wondering whether any cooks out there would consider releasing vanilla ROM's? I know alot of people are looking for them. I mean, its cool to have the omnia Lite apps in and such but wouldnt it be better to give people a choice? Couldn't the B7300 app .cabs just be put in the XDA startup folder? Or people could put the russian black .cabs/any other designs they wanted in. That way you could just put what omnia Lite apps you wanted in the folder and it would be there. And also would offer everyone who wanted it the stock Vanilla ROM. Thanks :)

Thanks :) and you can do the same with the apps you like :D (you have a repository of all apps) it's chef's decision what to put on ROM, that's why it's called cooked you know :D so i don't support people who would like everything served on plate, you're on windows mobile platform, the land of possibilities, so if you like something you can do it on your own :D that's the beauty of this otherwise crappy and buggy OS enjoy

I understand that chefs cook their own ingredients into a ROM. But no-one seems to be producing a true vanilla ROM. I may have to start attempting to cook some :D was just hoping that someone who has a bit of experience cooking ROMs could help out as I dont really want to brick my phone on the first attempt :)

Ive flashed to a 6.5 ROM and also made a binary file for flashing based on a 23088 sys/xip. I have an insurance policy pending that will cover me from accidental damage. Once that has come through, I will experiment with building ROMS.
