Guest Aton Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Hello again, found another annoying bug on the pulse, or maybe I don't get it. When I'm taking a picture with the pulse turned horizontally the orientation in the gallery and after upload to picasa is ok. When I'm taking a picture with the pulse turned vertically the orientation in gallery is wrong. Also the uploaded picture has the wrong orientation, even when I rotate the picture inside the gallery on the phone. I didn't find any option in the settings to get things right. I like the accelerometer stuff, but this time it does not work right. Can someone help?
Guest Aton Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) Isn't there anyone with the same problem? To make things more clear you can watch this video of the G1 At minute 1:50 you can see how a picture of a plant is taken vertically and in the gallery the picture is shown with the correct orientation. Geotagging seems to work too. Is this because the pulse is a low budget phone? Maybe I should have bought the G1 rather than a pulse. I thought, that the android operating system was intended as the new standard for smartphones. How does it come, that there are so fundamental differences seen at different models? Edit: When you are making a video and the pulse has a vertical orientation, the taken video has the wrong orientation too. And you can't even rotate ist. Man, even the ipod nano with videorecording has the possibility to recognize the orientation and to display it the right way up. Edited November 18, 2009 by Aton

There is something wrong with the orientation. I took a picture with the phone vertical and in the gallery the picture is the right way up. If I rotate the phone anti clockwise while in the gallery or picture viewer the picture rotates but it still views correctly. I also took a picture when the phone was horizontal (rotated anticlockwise). With the phone vertical this picture is not the right way up its rotated anti clockwise and to view it correctly I need to rotate the phone clockwise, so now the phone is upside down. In the picture viewer the same applies, to view the picture the phone needs to be upside down. If I rotate the phone anti clockwise so the screen rotates the picture is still wrong. Is this what you have?
Guest Aton Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 If I hold the phone with the headphone jack on the upper side and the shorter side on top, the trackball is at the bottom and I take a picture, the orientation is not recognized by the phone. In the gallery I have to rotate the picture to the right to have it in the correct orientation.
