Guest amitsharma.atc Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) (just a personal opinion) hi friends... every one is talking about htc hd 2 these days... i was also very excited about this phone but after having a look on some reviews and videos... i dont know why always HTC make incomplete phone as we know video call is not possible on htc hd2 (it dosn't hv front camera) why ??? if htc making a costly and powerful phone why these features are lacking... i think our omnia is just lacking a 3d card and vga resolution which htc's most of phones has... thats it... otherwise samsung omnia is still a all-rounder among existing and upcoming htc phones (you know evryting about omnis no need to explain anything about it) few things... (about htc's costly phones... not including Android OS phone and mid n low range phone ) htc touch diamond = battery prob, 2.8" small screen, fixed storage, 3.2 mp camera, no flash, no 3.5 audio cable htc touch pro = bulky size, no internal memory, 3.2 camera, 2.8" small screen htc touch hd = average battery, no camera flash, no navigation button htc touch diamond 2 = 1100 mAh battery (battery is not so good), no camera flash, no 3.5 jack, no internal memory htc touch pro = No FM radio by default (can be enabled with unofficial third-party software), 3.2 mp weak camera, No standard 3.5mm audio jack, No camera flash and now most popular... htc hd 2 = 1,230 mAh poor battery, no front camera, no internal storage, why????????????????? thanks Edited November 14, 2009 by amitsharma.atc
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Omnia2 is a vast improvement over the original Omnia and is the real and only competition to the HD2 As for saying the HD2 has a poor battery you are incorrect, battery life is very good and on par with the Omnia/Omnia2 etc. Regarding internal storage, that is not really an issue and the same applies to a front camera. I do not know of a single person that actually uses a front camera for video calling etc so it's technically a waste of hardware for most users. After using an HD2, the only thing stopping me from swapping my Omnia2 for an HD2 is the physical size of the device. It certainly is the fastest and smoothest device I have seen but I am sure some ROM builds will cause some issues the same way it has affected other ROMs builds on ALL devices. The Omnia2 does shine with the AMOLED though, and can not be beaten for clarity.
Guest tacchan23 Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 I copy and paste my own post from another thread^^ Here my opinion, Omnia2 is more of a all-rounder while the HD2 is more of a "specialist" (meaning it's better IF you don't mind the cons) HD2 pros: - it's quite faster than Omnia2 - capacitative screen is more responsive (even if Omnia2 still very good for a resistive) - bigger screen - better UI than Samsung UI - better support for customs ROMs at xda-developer HD2 cons: - capacitative screen may cause problems with older applications which requires a stylus of finger nail to cilck on small checkboxes; also the same about excell files or any documents showing a lot of small formatted information; can not be used with gloves - too big size for pocket (of course depends which kind of pocket^^) or to be used easily with one hand - NO AMOLED screen - maybe too small of a battery for such large screen (need to wait for people testing the battery life more extensivly) - NO internal storage (for people like me who likes to have lots of movie stored it's still an issue even with my 16gb class6 micro sd card) - NO TV-out - HSDPA worse than Omnia2 - more expensive (this may depends on contracts and where you live)
Guest amitsharma.atc Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) Omnia2 is a vast improvement over the original Omnia and is the real and only competition to the HD2 well... you are right (but htc hd 2 is the latest win mo phone... and i think it would be better if it has full hardware pack ) As for saying the HD2 has a poor battery you are incorrect, battery life is very good and on par with the Omnia/Omnia2 etc. well but its not powerful enough for very big screen (omnia has 1500 mah) Regarding internal storage, that is not really an issue but still our omnia has it and defiantly it would be better for hd 2 if it has... and the same applies to a front camera. I do not know of a single person that actually uses a front camera for video calling etc so it's technically a waste of hardware for most users. well now in india video call is available on very cheap price so its a fun to use this service i just want to say that why htc dosn't care about all things though it is latest from htc just like samsung (omnia is old but its Real Gold):) thanks sorry form my bad english Edited November 15, 2009 by amitsharma.atc
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 You can not rate how good a battery is just my mAh alone, if the compnents/ROM are power hungry then you would need a battery of a higher capacity. As the battery life of the HD2 is comparable to the Omnia then you can not state that it is not powerful enough just because it is a smaller than the Samsung, it is self evident that it is. This just proves how more efficient the HD2 is over the Omnia. I personally know someone who has had an HD2 for a couple of months so I judge their test results as it is based on decent length of time.
