Idea for Keyboard

I have noticed i have trouble pressing the keyboard buttons on the sides when i type, but the buttons in the middle i am fine with. would it be possible to widen the keys on the side by narrowing the keys in the middle?

[--q--][--w--][--e-][--r-][-t-][-y-][-u--][-i--][--o--][--p--]

Above is the idea i was thinking. just throwing it out there since i have no end of trouble hitting the blasted "P"

I'd be happier if someone managed to port the HTC keyboards to our Omnia. They are the best keyboards by far, particularly the ones with 2 keys assigned to 1 button.

Wouldn't the middle keys be excruciatingly small then? What keyboard do you use, the default Samsung one? You could possibly make a skin for Fingerkeyboard....

the problem you are having might be contributed to a bad digitizer on the screen of your Phone.. so it is not properly registering touches.. I had the same issue with typing on my omnia when I had it. The idea is still interesting though.

I think you may be right.. you may want to re-calibrate your screen again.

Or use Regedit software to edit it manually.

1. Open your Registry Editor(PHM Registry Editor)

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/

3. Click on CalibrationData

4. Value Data change to > 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872

5. Click OK to save it.

I am not sure about what size we would end up with. i wouldn't even know where to start, so i leave that decision up to those who know better then i. I am currently using the samsung keyboard. i have tried VITO's SPB's and Resco's. i have used fingerboard in the past, and i don't think i liked it, but i can't remember why. I guess i will try that again.

It is livable. i have the service plan at best buy that will replace it even if i hit it with a hammer, but it is working well enough for me to not get to that point yet. i would rather wait till there is a better phone i want to upgrade too.

I have a HTC keyboard on my omnia, but i can only use the keypad and the one with 2 keys assigned to 1 button.

Where you get a cab for that htc keypad? Been dying for a keypad with the 3 letters assigned to a key. I even reinstalled original omnia keyboard cab (running cooked rom) and only have qwerty. Cant stand the 2 letters to a button one. Don't care if it htc or whatever just want to have my phonepad (3 to a key) back. Any suggestions?

Here

When you install it, the language of T9 is Italian, you have to change it to English.

I changed it to dutch, got the language files from here

To get a other language working you have to change the language in registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9

there i changed DefaultLanguage from 109 to 113 <-- the code for dutch

In AvailableLanguages i add 0113 (the dutch language code) to be the first code (0113,0109,010C,0107,0110,010A)

If you look at options to change the language it is back in Italian, but T9 is dutch on my Omnia

Sorry if my English is bad :)

Good looking out mrhoffmann! installing it now

After i installed i went to input settings and set it to htc phonepad but it immediately went back to xt9 keyboard. using cooked rom so i had already installed the cab for i910 xt9 keyboard. I went to remove programs and uninstalled i910 keyboard, it said to restart to complete uninstall, i did and now i have a 200 dollar paperweight!! it turns on, gets to welcome screen and stays there with the loading bar still moving. After a min or two screen turns off and will only respond to a soft reset or taking battery out. In both cases it just does the same exact thing all over again???? I can only hope that reflashing will solve this issue although i am at school and can do nothing about it for another 8 hours or so till i get home. Any one have any suggestions onhow to prevent this from happening again????? Any help/advice would be appreciated!!
