Guest kronk Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Hey, I'm fairly new to the omnia i900, and I'm looking for THE right music player. What I want it to do, besides just playing my music :) is that it should never ever stutter in normal usage, for example while I unlock/lock the screen. And I'd like to be able to use the hardware keys (probably the volume keys and the main menu key) when the device is locked, for example a short press on vol+ skips to the next song, while holding it turns the volume up or fast forwards, since there is a volume knob at the headset adapter. The main menu key (or, that would also be cool, the take-call-key at the headset adapter) should work as a pause/play key. So far I played with the built in windows media player, touch player and the pocket player. All three stutter almost all the time, and while the pocket player allows me to map keys, it doesn't work when the device is locked. My music is on the storage card, class 4, so the reading speed should be sufficient. I'm thankful for any help. PS: I use sector's 23504 rom
Guest brandogg Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Try S2P. It can't do anything besides pause/resume when it locks itself (if you press the power button, then you are locking the actual phone), but it won't stutter, all it does is play music, and it's basically the same interface that's on the iPod touch.
Guest victaaaa Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 try nitrogen works pefectly, you can map keys and they work even in lock doesn't stutter either in lock, only when using/opening other programs
Guest Bouvrie Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) So far I played with the built in windows media player, touch player and the pocket player.PocketPlayer :) I would suggest PocketMusic (I'm using it mainly for gapless output AND the fact that it supports buttons while locked), but as for the stuttering it seems to me like your device is too busy running something else? If multiple players have that issue (and the MP3s aren't too high a bitrate), there must be something wrong. Also, for those extra button functionalities (pressing them multiple times/holding them, etc), you might need AEButton Plus. Edited November 18, 2009 by Bouvrie
