I have loved the browsing and the interface as a general, but i'm now feeling let down by a few irritating issues and so far haven't found any answers to this. I may decide to send the phone back if i can't resolve these issues:- 1. When I get an incoming call, I end up either silencing, declining, or answering calls accidently when i'm pulling the phone out of my pocket. I want to disable any touch function when answering a call as i want to be able to press a hard-key button instead. 2. When i'm on a call and a calender reminder comes on, i get no alerts, vibrations etc and worse of all, it disappears off the main screen, so i end up missing the damn event. 3. Even after flashing to the latest modaco 2.9 rom, the reception on these phones is poor. 4. Whilst talking on phone, sometimes people are saying they can't hear me clearly and i sound deep, as though i've covered the mic. I do like this phone, but with this phone so far IMHO, i've had many issues...just hope someone can help me iron out these problems.
Guest Chris Jenx Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Admittedly there is room for improvement. 2.0 coming soon might fix some calendar stuff etc... You could possibly talk to the creator of app Spare Parts, to see if he could add more functions like, Disable Screen on ring etc. Also send a request to HTC about events, as I would call that a bug, events should still pop-up regardless of what you are doing or at least sit in the notifications bar. As for signal, yes it is worse than other phones, but with the Radio Updates has improved. As for point 4. I've never had that. This phone has the clearest speaker and mic that I have ever used on a phone. I can leave my phone on speaker phone and most people I'm talking to don't even notice. The only place I don't get signal now is at home where even Nokia's struggle to get signal. looking back, I would of rather they made the Hero, 1 or 2 mm longer/deeper and put a larger antenna in. Really apart from signal at home I love the phone to bits, but its not for everyone and if you want to send it back that entirely you decision.

I can leave my phone on speaker phone and most people I'm talking to don't even notice. i can confirm that. the microphone is awesome concerning sensibility, check with SpectraView Analyzer from market. i can see the ticks of my wallclock with that... :) the speaker for the handsfree has some issues, it tends to "crackle" or "squeal" when you turn it up, but is ok when on volume at ~60-70%. loud enough to hear, so not really a problem. the internal speaker is also very good, never had a problem there.

I don't want to send it back, but if i have issues that i can't resolve then i just don't want to be stuck with a phone on 2yr contract moaning or hoping that someone will release a fix or some software to fix these issues. Someone has recommended that i could get a pouch or a gel case which will stop me accidently answering calls, but i couldn't find any that will fit the phone nicely. The reception issue is not always there mate and most of the time its perfect. I'll be there talking to a friend and the sound is crystal clear and then a few mins later they'll be there saying "Hello? are u still there?". When i ask them what happened, their reply is that my voice went extremely low and they can hardly hear me. This issue lasts for about 5-10 seconds. I already have the latest version of radio too as i've updated to modaco 2.9.
Guest kendon Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I already have the latest version of radio too as i've updated to modaco 2.9. just a note: you are aware that modacos custom roms do NOT contain radio updates and you have to install them in a separate step? not sure what you want to say with that... if the radio string in phone infos under settings contain the letters "IU" you are good.
