Are you saying that once it goes to sleep it will not come back on at all or will it come on with a tap of the power button and not any other button?

There is a problem where it will only turn back on (come out of sleep) when you touch the power button and will not come on if you touch say the cursor button. If that is what you are saying then make sure you don't have windows media player running in the background and try again.

hm....I have similar issue. right now I am using 21876 from ryrzy. but it has happened also witk some other ROMs. but never with ROMs from Hammer and dddrko.

the situation is that if the phone is connected using usb cable to my PC which runs Windows 7 x64, it falls asleep and never wakes up - I need to press reset button with a stylus. BUT the same phone works fine when connected to PC that runs Windows XP....so the problem may be bad driver for Vista/7 and 64bit Windows Device Mobile Center - I need to check if this happens when the conection is set to Mass Storage...

Interesting, same here on 7 x64. But now i need to find a way to sync contacts with my pc without activesync....

*edit: also happens with a fresh flashed rom without having it connected to my windows 7 pc. So I guess its a hardware problem for me...

Easy way.

Use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync.

I had this issue while ago...

I sent my Omnia to Samsung Service to repair.

It's hardware fault probally.

With most of the ROMs there is this bug: when WiFi is turned on and the device is sent into standby, it won't turn on angain. Solution: turn of WiFi first and/or use another program to turn of the screen.

With KCs newest ROM I did not have another bug: sometimes the device would not wake up if sent into standby, even if WiFi was turned off. I am happy now with KCs ROM. Just uninstall the SRS WOW effect after flashing. This is one program that leads to the bug...

Hope this helps.

It has something to do with Third party UI's because I have the bug when I'm using SPB MS3 and M2D2 (not sure about PointUi) but it doesn't happen when I use Titanium.

By the way, I'm using Bruno Addler's PTG ROM.

I doubt this has much to do with your situation. I mean it could, but I doubt it. Back when I had my old hp ipaq 4150, I had this same problem. It had something to do with the power and backlight settings. I know that when I put it back to what it was before (default settings), it didn't have that problem anymore though. I know that the setting should not have contributed to the symptom, but it was some kind of bug or something. In fact if I remember correctly, it had something to do with the auto off time out. Try playing with those settings a bit.

I personally think it's a very old bug in the firmware and it's a shame it still pops up. This bug was also in the official german ROMs in the beginning, but was solved by Samsung within couple of months. BHHL2 I think was the rom, that solved it, but I'm not sure-correct me if I'm wrong.

However might be that it's still valid for some english roms.

What I read somewhere and might help you - set the power savings turned ON (both tabs-for the complete system and for the WIFI). S2U2 also causes such bug if the version is from 2.21 until 2.30 (2.11 is OK, but 2.30 is absolutely perfect!). Sometimes language packs for S2U2 also cause similar issues, but then the phone is freezing only after en event pops up...

I've NOT seen the bug in JC True and Blue ROMs & PDhee roms. German ROMs nowadays are on the base of BHIC2 so they all are fine, in case you're interested in the language of course.

Just a 2ct - maybe some Chef can take a look at ROMs, based on BHIC2, and compare the drivers and power settings with the current English builds?
