Guest Anusha Dharmasena Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 There is a misaligned area in the touch screen and I don't know how to fix it. The area is around where A & S keys of Samsung Keyboard show up. When I press the A key, it always sends S key. To send A key, I have to press around the left edge of the A key. If I press middle of A key, it sends S key. The problem is there for D key as well, as in if I press towards right of D key from middle of D key, it sends F. This issue is slightly present in the QWERTY and ZXCVB lines as well, but ASDF line is the worse. Everywhere else, the co-ords map correctly. Doesn't seem like a software issue, right? I've tried many ROMs and aligned screen with finger, with stylus as well used the precision values from the registry as well. Do I have to purchase a new touch screen? Looks likely, and I've heard they have a better touch responsive screen nowadays and how do I find a new one? Thanks for any support. - Anusha
Guest DavidC Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 You can get them on ebay (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=i900+touchscreen+digitizer&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=wholesale+and&_osacat=0) and the dissasembly guide is here http://www.formymobile.co.uk/omniadisassembly.php It's not that difficult to do, just requires some patience.
Guest Heintraag Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 I'm looking at the exact same problem and now i am even more convinced it is indeed a hardware problem. Luckily these new screens come cheap and that instruction at formymobile is excellent!
Guest Anusha Dharmasena Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 OK, so I need a new screen. One little question though. I just need the digitizer, right? Not the LCD as well, right?
