Guest -Yaya- Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Hey folks ... I want to set up another wallpaper as the included ones dont look that sharp and I just want to have somehting new ... If you just select a wallpaper through the menu it gets streched and looks like crap. I've tried an app out of the market called "Wallpaper Plus" which gives you the ability to use one wallpaper for the whole screen. But the quality of the pictures is quite bad then. I think even if you use such an app the pulse streches it somehow... Does anyone uses another good looking (and sharp) Wallpaper?
Guest Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 (edited) To avoid strech resize your wallpaper to 960*480 Regards Edited November 23, 2009 by Guest
Guest mapero Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I use the app "backgrounds" for wallpaper and it works fine! Its free!
Guest dino_mk Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Make a background with dimension 640x960. Then put image that u like for the wallpaper with dimensions 320(or more)x480 in the middle of the background and save it as jpg. for example:
Guest helikopter Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 i'm using zedge (free from market) as a wallpaper configurator. i tried a few wallpapers and they all worked. the app's description states that you can also customize your ringtones but after downloading the tune the app crashes. anyway, putting a wallpaper on your home and lockscreen works perfectly, and you can select thousands of different ones.

Guest RavemasterX Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 This is on my home currently (or at least a part of it, still very nice I think ;) Bumping this thread rather than starting a similar topic. I dabble in photography now and again and I would like to use some of my own night cityscapes as background wallpaper. I can crop them down using Digital Photo Professional or Paint.Net to whatever size and shape I need. My problem is getting the correct crop on the main homescreen. The Pulse seems to insist on doing a sort of parallax scroll as you flick from one screen to the next, and as such I'm finding it very hard to get the image how I want it on the main screen (I don't use the others that much). Basically I want my Beautiful Widgets clock (with nude skin) at the top over the dark sky bit so it's nice and uncluttered, then a bit of techno cityscape below. See this pic as an example (an old one taken on film and scanned with a flatbed, so not very sharp: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.gallo...Tokyo_Bay_1.jpg I'd quite like to be able to crop out, say, a section including the red sign, the buildings either side, and the red reflection on the water, and use that. Will either of the previously mentioned programs (zedge or backgrounds) help me do that? If not, how exactly do I need to crop the photo to get it to fit how I want?
Guest pulsem Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I think that it depends on how many screens you have. I use 3 screens (the main one and one on the left and one on the right). After few try-error attempts, I've noticed that my image should be 450x420 pixels. Maybe it will work for you too.
Guest Samlock Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) @RavemasterX Have you tried cropping the part of the image you want, making sure it is 960*480 pixels? Also, when setting the wallpaper through the standard Android application/method, you are dragging the yellow box out to the edges completely, right? I made that mistake for a good few hours of much frustration...! If so, then not sure ;) .:EDIT:. Btw, nice photo ;) Edited April 12, 2010 by Samlock
