Remap Power Button?

Does anyone know how to remap the power button? I want to be able to do 2 things:

1. Remap the power button long press to the pshutdownxp program - I have tried AE Button Plus, but it doesn't have the option, I have also tired this solution at XDA, but it doesn't seem to work for the Omnia.

2. Short press of the power button turns off the screen, but it also puts the phone is a suspend mode. and in that mode, a lot of the times it suspends the programs running in the background (like a timer). If I let S2U2 do the locking and the suspending, then the background applications are fine. I believe it has something to do with suspend mode and idle mode.

Does anyone have a solution?
