HTC HERO arrived today - reception issue

Hello

I received my HERO today. I am on T-Mobile UK. The reception is very _very_ poor at my house.

I flased latest radio and T-mobile rooted 2.73.... rom - its a little bit better however

I found out that if the mobile is lying on the table it get 2 bars and G without problems

however when I take it to may hand It dropps the whole connection to network.

I believe that aerial is on the bottom of the phone this is where I hold the phone. Its strange that a hand can prevent signal from going to mobile.

Its not convinient at all. Can you please advise if this happens with your phones as well

or maybe the handset is faulty ?
