Completely Confused

hey all,

I got my hero yesterday and spent about 4 hours unlocking it and i THINK im running the right OS. I downloaded the modaco release, the 2.9 core version. I installed that and everything seems ok however, there is still some lag and choppiness.

My issue is that i dont know if im running the latest version of anything really because there are so many different softwares out there. It sais i am running?

My kernel is V2.6.27-mck-teknologist-1.8root@neutrino

and my software is V1.0.0.A6288

I have NO idea if this is the latest stuff and im trying to get my head around it!

So if there is anyone that can quickly explain i would appreciate it, cus believe me im stupid with computers!
