Guest masterpfa Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) Good morning, afternoon all. I have searched the forum before posting this so apologies if this is a subject that has been covered before. The one problem I have with my Hero (OK T-Mobile G2 but has been rooted, MCR'd and Tecko'd) is trying to send MMS. If I have Wi-Fi enabled I am unable to receive or send MMS messages. I have tried numerous combinations of APN settings etc. One thing I have noticed under setting is that when Wi-Fi enabled Mobile Internet doesn't connect, is this a feature (bug) on this phone? I have as a result ended up turning my Wi-Fi off to send MMS and turning back on once sent. I initially thought it may have been a problem with Y5- Battery Saver as when this was turned off I still could not connect to the Mobile network (GPRS, 3G or HSDPA) and as a result ended up removing it. I'm on T-Mobile UK Current APN settings on my phone are: 1. Name T-Mobile Internet APN general.t-mobile.uk Username t-mobile Password ** MMSC http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/ MMS proxy 149.254.201.135 MMS Port 8080 MMC 234 MNC 30 APN Type * 2. Name Picture Message APN general.t-mobile.uk Userename user Password *** MMSC http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/ MMS proxy 149.254.201.135 MMS Port 8080 MMC 234 MNC 30 APN Type mms Any help would gratefully be appreciated T-Mobile G2 Rooted Amon Ra Recovery image 1.3.2 MoDaCo Custom Rom 2.8 Teknologist Kernel 2.6-mck-teknologist 1.9 Edited November 30, 2009 by masterpfa
Guest Limb Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Known issue - there is nothing that can be done about it unfortunately.
Guest katermuc Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I had the same problem, this fixed it: on your first APN (internett) sett type as "default". Then it should work with MMS when Wifi is on. Edited December 1, 2009 by katermuc
Guest masterpfa Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I had the same problem, this fixed it: on your first AON (internett) sett type as "default". Then it shoud work with MMS when Wifi is on. Thanks for you reply katermuc. I gave that a try and all working superbly Thanks :D I had previously sent a query to HTC which I have just received a reply for and they confirmed your suggestion "please check your mms settings. there appears to be a setting missing. from the homescreen... press the menu button. select settings select wireless settings select mobile network settings select Access Point Names here you should see two settings. one for internet and one for MMS. select the one for Internet. Scroll all the way to the bottom and select 'APN Type' in here, make sure that you have typed the word 'default'. It should be in lower case and without the ' marks. tap ok, and then press the back button to save this change. select the MMS setting. scroll down to the bottom of the settings and again, select 'APN Type' this time, you must type in mms (again, all in lower case). tap ok and then press back to save it. Once you have done this, you should be able to send and receive MMS without having to turn the Wifi Off. Best regards, HTC Technical Support" Edited December 1, 2009 by masterpfa
