Guest redcow Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 That ROM is ROUGH! Had it about a week... :D P Do you have some idea about future modaco releases paul? Waiting for an official HTC release or focusing on 2.0..2.1?
Guest kingkeld Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 How does upgrading the Hero actually work? I have upgraded the firmware back when 2.73 came out, but have no idea about upgrading the operating system... is it somewhat the same procedure? What about the rooted Heros? Will they lose their rooting? If so, can we get it back? What about ROMs? I am sure I don't need to worry, I just hope getting new cool stuff wont be too much trouble... :D
Guest cezent Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 There seems to be a lot of problem with this rom from the other forums...still waiting for one that is close to the official release but have to say i m getting rather impatient..haha...
Guest munkimatt Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Rough is an understatement! It's nowhere near ready for daily use.
Guest Phily Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Rough is an understatement! It's nowhere near ready for daily use. I second that - right back to 2.9 MoDaCo with me :D But, looking forward to 2.x Android - might be getting a new phone soon though so it better be along quick! Edited December 18, 2009 by Phily

Guest Paul Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 As soon as there is a ROM that is in my opinion good enough for everyday use, it'll be MCR'd. Anyhow, nice to see other devs coming to Hero, just need to get 'em to MoDaCo! Tell them you want them here! :D P
Guest pillock Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I gotta say, back in the days when I had a Trinity I used to put any old ROM on just to try it. Three in one day was my record. However since putting MCR2.9 on my Hero I've not got the itch to keep trying new ROMs, there's nothing really to be gained at the moment that cancels out the losses - currently, no market/calendar/contacts (but that is changing by the hour...) Watching the 2.1 developments with great interest but I suspect after seeing the great job Paul made of 1.5, I'll wait for his touch on 2.1. No offence to the cookers currently working with it but I feel that people are rushing it out just to be first.

Exactly, used to flash Roms galore on my Blackstone, feel no need to try these new 2.1 Roms that are leaking as the MCR is so nice to use, quite happy to wait for the bugs to be ironed out first. Paul: Is the Lox dev rom the same as the other ( busy/sticked) rom on XDA? There seems to be a lot of interest in it. I can't be arsed to be one of the ones to try it- can't be without a 100% working phone for my job.
Guest cezent Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I often wonder if HTC actually follows all the devs websites...perhaps they throw out these leak ROMs just to test water...
Guest justbabu Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 I often wonder if HTC actually follows all the devs websites...perhaps they throw out these leak ROMs just to test water... I think it's more than that - in my opinion they probably encourage the leaking of ROMS as tasters of things to come. HTC is getting a huge amount of exposure from these various leaks.
