Guest Firasco Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Hey there, I created categories in Gmail for my contacts: Work, Private etc. When I open my phonebook in my HTC Hero all those contacts are shown and I couldn't find a way to only display a certain group while leaving out the other. Is there a way to just show my "Private" contacts? I know I can choose to show "SIM" / "Phone" / "Google" contacts, but I'm talking about catgeories inside the Gmail addressbook. Would appreciate any help. Thank. Firasco
Guest JulesB Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 In the People app, scroll along the icons at the bottom until you get to the Groups icon (three people). This will show you the Groups that you have (HTC's version of Outlook Categories - I assume it is the same for Google). You have some group options on the first screen, but if scroll to the person icon on the bottom of the screen, you will see all the contacts in that Group. The setting does not persist into the Phone application, but you can dial from the People app. It also forgets the setting when you next go into People so you will see all your contacts again.

Well thanks for the help, any other ways of getting a permanent solution to work? My phone book is a huge mess...
Guest eMilk Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I would like to know this too - the amount of contacts that comes from your Gmail is insane; would be nice to keep those seperated. When I got my phone I deleted all my contacts from contacts.google.com - which I didn't really want to, since I liked having those accesible from my Gmail account. So, yeah, I would like to know this too.
