Hi all, just trying to cook up my own ROMs at the moment. Gathering cabs and making EXTs at the moment. Was wondering what apps people expect to be in the ROM as default?

At the moment have got (still waiting to test them myself but should work!):

The Smaller higher resolution icons

Net framework 3.5

Favourite Hackings

Honey Comber

Sip Change

cHome editor

Touchwiz 2.0 widgets (from omnia Lite)

Some titanium plugins: Comm manager (to turn wifi on and off) and Favourite people

Anyone got any requests or ideas as to what to put in?

If all is successful should have a 28002_Smg (my take on an official samsung update, including all samsung apps spare dialer), 28002_Pure (Purely the OS, no apps on top, not sure how this will go yet, may need to make up a new kitchen) and a 28002 M2D

Also looking to make 28005 ROMs of all the above versions. Hopefully will be out soon :D Shall be testing tonight :(

i had that thoughts also a few months ago but since chefs here are doing an amazing work i just gave up :D

i have a few comments: sip change why? roms without it work just great when we set input in settings. or am i missing something?

touchwiz 2 cooked in is better than installed by cab?

i suggest u to include nodata, advance config tool and phm registry. as for onminalite apps they're too heavy but if u include them i think u should make them default (and maybe delete the others?).

i think u should make the rom as plain as possible and leave out all the apps we can install easily by cab.

Hey, i didnt realise the input change worked on these roms lol, should really have checked. Im testing with the samsung widgets added in for premium builds. These would only be every once in a while but id try to make sure they were bug free and could be 4-in-1's (possibly 5 in 1's) so having titanium, M2D, touchwiz 2.0 widgets, and the standard homescreen choices like date etc.

Was looking at including PHM registry but having trouble compiling the EXT for it as there is no app.dat in there :s I'll have to investigate further ;) NoData is a good idea :D

Do you by any chance have a copy of SYKAR?? Ive got a build with OEM apps removed but im not quite sure how its gona turn out, all ive done is remove the .lnk and .exe's :| so dont know whats gona happen with the registry. Hoping it will be okay. Need to lighten up the memory usage.

Ill give a preview of my ROM possibly later but most likely tomorrow.

When released, will also be providing the MD5 checksum :D All chefs should so that people can know if they have downloaded okay, could reduce bricking chances :(

Flashing to second build attempt now. Fingers crossed for no sleep bug :|

Good news and bad news! lol. Sleep bug is gone. Apps have installed, everything has gone relatively well, except getting a checkstatus error message on boot. Have heard this can happen randomly. Main problem though is trying to the icons smaller!!! i tried the cab from Khuanchai but its not worked and has created some kind of horrible monster lol. Also getting warnings about running the .exe's so thinking i need the SDKCerts in there aswell. Shall try again! lol back to the kitchen :|

My .02c, cook in a decent keyboard such as the LG's or HTC's with 2/3 letters assigned to a key. I still prefer my HTC Touch for texting but my Omnia has much better battery life, something like close to a whole week with moderate usage (no 3d games). The HTC battery dies within less than a day which of course is crap to take out when I go clubbing. If the Omnia had a much better keyboard cooked in, I'd use your roms any day.

Okey dokey, will include Connected home in next test build. 28005 very nearly worked but gridmenu was having a problem :| small icons but used old icons from 6.1!
