Guest rewrew2 Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Hi, how to use the accelerometer for auto rotate screen from portrait to landscape in automatic mode without open the keyboard but just only moving the phone?? any particular setting? thx
Guest Tarqon Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Have a look at these two apps. It's the only way to get somewhat funtional accelerometer based rotation as far as I know.

I tried the apps but I uninstalled them cause they don't work on the b7610 I believe the samsung sdk used is not compatible with our device... Edited December 11, 2009 by kibiwi
Guest ramonous Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 i found a solution to this: grab this updated HTCSensor.dll and copy it into your windows folder this will make a lot of accelerometer apps work with your omnia pro - i tried a lot of games and they seem to be working now now get this tool and install it (needs ms framework 3.5 to work) install and run it, minimze to background and voila you have an autorotating screen ;) you can also find the gyrator.exe and copy a link to it to you windows autostart so it will start everytime you boot up your omnia pro only negative aspect: when running the camera application the screen will also flip, which makes the camera useless - so you obviously have to close the program before taking pictures/videos there is an option to exclude certain apps from flipping in gyrator but i havent found out what to add in order to deactive flipping for the camera mode maybe someone could have a look into this ... the omnia pro is my first "modern" phone and i am just looking into it for 3 days... dunno where to find the needed strings in registry yet.

I've tried to discover the window class of the camera but it's very difficult cause the app autocloses itself everytime I launch any other app...Can someone help discovering the window class of the camera? ;)

Did this solve it?
Guest .:stn:. Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) sorry, some kind of mistake, pls admin or moderator delete my post. Edited December 18, 2009 by .:stn:.
Guest rybar73 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I tried similar application for HTC(with HTCSensor.dll). Name is ChangeScreen v2.78 and you can download from XDA. App is better because you can set what is Enable for rotation, so there are no collisions with other applications :-)
Guest bobbes Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Hi, both apps doesn't seem to work very well on my B7610. It rotates the screen in oposite direction so it is of no use! (i had to read the text on the screen upside down.....) Can I solve this 'little' problem easily? I've tried Gyrator and Changescreen. In my opinion ChangScreen has better features, if it works correctly.......

It works like a charm. :) I don't know what why and how. :)
Guest Arda Yilmaz Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Is there a way to disable the auto rotate in the camera app with the tools above? Maybe a registry hack or a disabler tool?
Guest Mongoloid Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Registry ? Nah... I followed rybar73's advice to install "ChangeScreen2.78" and then add camera program into the exception list.
Guest VOODOOS!L Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 ChangeScreen works best in my opinion on the B7610. But don't enable the option to turn of the device when face down, since it doesn't seem to work (you will need to keep the device face down else it always get turned off. The option vibrate on change orientation doesn't seem to work.
Guest force of nature 1985 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) ok i installed ChangeScreen2.78. when adding the exception is anyone able to get the media player to function it is supposed to be before enabling the changescreen? meaning that before i on the media player, when i turn it sideway, it will change to a flipping type of album mode. but when i use changescreen, if i turn it sideway, the list will also turn with it. it does not show the flipping mode. the exception name for the media player is "touchplayer" Edited January 20, 2010 by force of nature 1985
Guest rybar73 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 So why you added to exceptions list when "touchplayer" working without ChangeScreen???? Just remove from list and work fine... Only programs in exception list are rotate, other are ignore. Of course you have to check only first checkbox as default!
Guest force of nature 1985 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) hmm... isnt it supposed to be that the programs in the list are ignored cos they themselves have the ability to rotate without the ChangeScreen? okay.. i remove it from the exception list. but the same thing occurs. the media player itself got a special mode when u turn it sideways. when u turn ur phone sideways, it is activated and ur screen will show ur albums and u can flip each album pic to see the other albums. however with the ChangeScreen, this special mode is not activated. it just change from vertical mode to horizontal mode. the media player i talking about is the samsung one. see the video at 1:15 where he change to landscape. Guest rybar73 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Yes I know what you mean it is nice effect :-) It is strange that it doesn't work because works fine on my side. I have WM6.5 and changeScreen v2.5 - on General tab I have enebale ONLY first portrait position and no touchplayer on exceptions list. No special setting.

No special setting. to get the touch player's special horizontal effect work nicely together with changeScreen you will need to add 'touchplayer' (without any selection box selected) and '3dtplayerlib' (without any selection box selected) in the exception list. I found out another process is started for this effect and the name '3dtplayerlib' is displayed when using the 'Show App Names' function of ChangeScreen v2.78. thanks for asking this question, I didn't notice this 3D effect and with change screen activated I would never have seen it ) Edited January 20, 2010 by VOODOOS!L
Guest Mongoloid Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Good question and nice solution. Just another question. Have you guys ever tried "asphalt4" the race game with g-sensor control supported ? This game doesn't work with my b7610. Thanks.

Guest RATTLE_FISH Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 WOW!!! long awaited! finaly! it works really good, thank you! Hi Pashik, Congrats!! you got it working, which phone are you using?
Guest schmintan Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 i just installed changescreen 2.78 but when i check the "enable" tickbox and click save, i just get a "Changescreen.exe" Error. there is no text or data in the error so not sure what i can do here.
Guest Roamron Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Changescreen works like a charm for me. Thank you for the suggestion rybar73!
