Calendar/Voice Mail/SMS reminder interval?

By default, the "Repeat" option in Settings -> Personal -> Sounds and Notifications sounds an alarm every 30 seconds at first, then at 5 minutes, and for one final time at 10 minutes. Then it stops completely. I found the registry hack to enable the repeat setting for each Notification (ie. "Phone: voice mail"), but now wonder if the alarm time frame is also hackable? I don't get many calls or voice mails, but those I do get are usually very urgent. I'd like the alarm to sound when the voice mail first arrives, and then every 5 minutes afterwards until I silence it or until the battery dies. Can this be done, or must I use third-party software? (And if so, do you have any recommendations...preferably without me spending $20+)?
