Getting Hero from Orange UK

Hello

I will be getting Hero from Orange. I had to send Hero from T-mobile back due to lack of signal at home. I rooted it and put back to backup.

I am planning to root and update the rom on Orange HERO.

0. Is there any difference between flasing G2 Touch then Orange Hero?

1. Does anyone one know what would the shipping rom ver ( will find out tomorrow though :-) )

2. Why there is not orange rom rooted on mondaco website similiar to T-mobile rooted

3. Which rom should I apply instead.

4. If I am not gonna flash the recovery rom permanently by dropping the bat command is there a chance that phone can be bricked if

updating rom will go wrong.

4A. is there any way to put the phone into recovery mode without prior permanet flash?
