Hero not mounting SD card after Modaco 3.0 Update - help!

Hi all,

After i installed the Modaco 3.0 update, the entire phone seems to be going a bit haywire! The sd card cannot be read and it claims there is an error with it, even though it works when plugged into a computer and the wifi will not connect to any of the saved networks before i installed the update.

I would downgrade back again or do a nandroid restore however the sd card not working means i can't do this! I have tried 3 different microsd cards with the same result each time.

Any sort of explanation or fix would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!

That was the first thing i tried but there is no way of installing the custom rom .zip file since the SD card cant be read! Not even in recovery mode :S

Ok, i think i've found the reason for the SD card not working, the logs tell me that /system/bin/mkdosfs doesn't exist ("No such file or directory")

So unless this is a popular problem then i guess im going to have to find some way of reinstalling the rom.

Ive tried to install the stock Hero roms from the HTC website but they wont connect to the phone... so any ideas on how to install a .zip modaco rom without an SD card??

sure you have installed 'dosfstools' - utilities for making and checking MS-DOS FAT filesystems !!!

Are you in Linux, Windows, OSX, OS2...?
