Writing failed on my omnia

Hi folks,

i have hit a problem. last nite i was using Mr. Hammer's 28008 rom. Since it had sleep bug, the device went to sleep and i didnt do anything. Today i wanted to upgrade to a stable rom. while flashing i got this error. Is there a way to recover from it?

Last nite my battery was 70%. Now, after i got this error, i am not able to power up the device. i press the power key nothing happens .. i mean the red glow on the power key doesnt come up.

Please help.

if you look at my screenshot, its not yet downloaded the pda image. does it mean .. i can still recover the device?

i dont have my wall charger at the moment and only the usb data cable_charger.

Can i charge atleast my battery if i plug-in my wall charger?

I dont have a warranty for my device :-(( since i bought it on ebay and its a UK model, and i live in Bangalore, India. Please let me know if i can somehow recover the device myself.

I've never seen this error before, but i'd recommend that you charge your phone for at least 12hrs using wall charger and see if it works again.. If you press the power button and get the omnia logo you're ok, that means that you can flash it again.. If not, might be bricked, i dunno. You need to get to the omnia logo for the cpu to regognize the phone to flash it again.

BTW, i am using xp machine, and samsung usb drivers are installed. last nite the upgrade was ok from 28005 to 28008.

I just have a feeling that, when the device went to sleep with sleep bug, the battery got discharged overnite...

When sleep bug occurs, does the device still on but no screen ?? if on, then i am sure my battery would have gotten discharged.

I'm going home early today to check it.

Yes device is still on.. I think if you connect it to the cpu "asleep" it wakes up. But it is VERY important to have full charge when flashing so it could be that the charge was too low, i don't know..

It seems not to be a problem cause Eboot already downloaded. Now just use grandpix to upload the pda part again !

But, i am unable to get the red glow when i press the power key. (Maybe as Nick suggested, battery is completely drained..??).

IF hopefully i could charge my battery full, can i still use any other i9000*exe to normally flash any OS. or grandprix is the safer alternative?

Thanks very much. The issue was sleep bug had drained the battery 100%. I charged for 1.5 hours and then tried to download the ROM, and was successful.

Till this sleep bug issues get sorted out...i will stick to your hotseller 28005 Classic ROM...
