Guest Pablo1001 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Hi there, Having previously successfully installed numerous ROMS and radios I (stupidly) decided to do the Orange ROM upgrade, not realising I couldn't just go back to the previous state :D Having followed lots of instructions for rooting the device etc. I have got stuck. So far, I had installed Flashrec and copied the patched recovery image to the SD card. Then tried to flash the recovery image and then restarted holding power and home. I selected my update.zip (a new radio) which didn't load as it wasn't rooted. Why? This used to work before I did that darn Orange ROM update..... Can someone help me get my Hero back to a state where I can install ROMs and radios please?
Guest Baggieboy Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Can someone help me get my Hero back to a state where I can install ROMs and radios please? I was in this state after installing the last T-Mobile update. The only thing that worked for me was to use the "gold card" method. Search for it on this forum.

Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683 Read very carefully, and follow the instructions. This was the procedure I followed after I upgraded my phone with the T-Mobile official rom and realised I was stuck with it, I am now on MCR 3
Guest Pablo1001 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Wow, that was spooky Great - this all worked fine. Took quite a while but got my handset back up and running with MCR 3 and latest radios. Phew!
