SIM network subnet unlock PIN

My phone was on standby and suddenly got the message "SIM network subnet unlock PIN" after pressing the on/off button to get the screen back on. Has anyone else had this message come up?

Only thing I could do is take the battery out and back in...

Same thing happened again today... twice! Maybe it's due to bad coverage or something.

Before I've also had my Pulse tell me there was no coverage, and it would not connect to the network anymore, until I rebooted the device. Think I will ring T-Mobile and get it replaced (or should I just load P's MCR and see if everything works, including barcodescanner?).
