pulling hair out with contacts sync.

Just before updating to MCR3.0 I decided to sync up my contacts with my laptop using HTC sync 2.0.8.

1. sync created duplicates of all my contacts in my windows address book!

2. i deleted my windows address book and attempted another sync to retrieve contacts from the phone - this deleted all contacts on phone as well!

3. copied contacts from a backup back to my windows contacts folder and synced again, however sync completes with 0 items and my phone is still blank!

I cannot for the life of me get my contacts back to my phone

never mind ive abandoned the sync altogether, imported everything to google contacts and will use that in future
