Guest stevenz Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 I've been using the "PandaHome" home replacement app for a little while, and apart from the fact that the HTC widgets don't work in it, it's a good snappy replacement, possibly a better alternative to Sense when using the 2.x test ROMs. It's very customisable and has little slide-out docks you can put other apps in. It's hard to tell but it seems to be pretty good on RAM usage too. There's a beta version and a regular version in the market, but they're both listed as version 1.75 so I've no idea what the difference is. It's also free which is a bonus. They do a theme creator to make your own graphics with too. Being able to customise icons and their text is nice. I'd recommend having a look if you'd like a bit more tweakability than Sense offers and can live without the HTC widgets. (Admittedly, losing the HTC music widget is a tad annoying, but this way I can fit the Android one and the Doggcatcher one on the main screen at the same time.) I'm using it with MCR 3.0 for the past few days and it hasn't crashed on me yet which is always a bonus ;) Also, if you use XBMC (Xbox Media Centre) at all, check out http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55346 - it's a bit crashy but it's a very impressive remote-interface app!
Guest rico2k_uk Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 I use that remote app and found it brilliant, although the latest update seems to crash more often then the previous.
Guest clarkEEE1 Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Yes I do agree its a good alternative to ahome and other similar apps much nicer themes etc. However I tried installing a few times now and seems to crash a lot for me and having to do a lot of full reboots only reason I got rid other than that nice app.
