Guest rocky_mon Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Hi There, My omnia (i900) has developed a strange audio problem when I'm using the handsfree (headset). The songs, sounds, voice are all getting partially muted. When I'm playing music, I hear it as if it was a karaoke version! This happens only with the headset, if I remove the earphone jack from the phone I hear the song properly from the phone speaker. I tried connecting another earphone to the handsfree jack, but same result. So in my opinion either the handsfree cable (with microphone and jack) is having a problem or the headset adapter on the phone. Guess this can not be software issue, I did a hard reset and the problem still exists. Has anyone faced this issue? Is there anything you can suggest. Please help. ;) cheers. Hey mate, Yeah, I had a similar issue early on into my Omnia's life. For me, the handsfree was damaged near the plug which connects directly into the phone; so, not the earbuds themselves. Not too sure who from exactly (some HK seller), but I managed to pick up a new genuine Omnia handsfree for like $AUD10.00 or sth off eBay, so pretty cheap. Haven't had any problems with it since =]
Guest rocky_mon Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks mate for sharing this, I will give that a try. Was there any noticeable damage on the plug/handsfree, mine looks absolutely fine... hence the question. Hey mate, Yeah, I had a similar issue early on into my Omnia's life. The problem is the part of the wire that connects to the plug (that goes into the phone) that gets damaged really easy. So I bought another adapter and now it's working fine. I found that twisting the cable in awkward positions warped/cutoff the sound etc - ergo, wiring damage of some sort.
