DHCP is not setting DNS or hostname

I have a (CentOS 4) Linux machine controlling my home network. I have set up DHCP and DNS servers on it. I have fixed-address settings for all the machines I regularly use, including my Pulse (with the MoDaCo 8230 ROM installed).

All my other machines correctly pick up DHCP settings, including the DNS server. However, my Pulse gets only the address - it does not use my DHCP server. This means the Pulse is unable to use names for other machines on my network. It does seem to be able to resolve DNS, but I have no idea what DNS server it is using (or how to find out - there is no /etc/resolv.conf).

Any help or pointers appreciated,

Nikki
