Guest venturerider Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Running MCR 3.0, when I plug in my Hero into the USB port, I sometimes lose my Internet connection on Vista. Fortunately, I have a little batch file that resets it in a second, but it's annoying nonetheless.

Sounds like an issue with drivers or something on your PC rather than anything with the phone itself. The fact that you have a batch file to do this suggests you might have a slightly unusual setup as well. Do you have HTC Sync installed?
Guest venturerider Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 I have this batch file because my system did the same thing when I plugged my previous WM phone into it :-) I do not have HTC sync installed, but I do have the proper "My HTC" device showing in Device Manager. My suspicion is that Windows sees another computer at the end of the USB connection and somehow want to route or bridge to it or something. It's definitely a networking issue. I thought maybe someone here had seen this behavior before.

Wierd Vista issues like that, I'd be tempted to do a backup & a reinstall. It's not a fun OS to try and fix networking glitches in. Unless you're using a USB cable/dsl modem/router, which would definitely suggest a USB-specific problem.
