Guest Theboyjones Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Hi, I'm a newbie so go steady with me ;) Right, I'm trying to root my Pulse using Superboot and I can't do it in either OS X or XP, in os x I follow the instructions to a t but when i enter the final terminal command (./install-superboot-mac.sh) it just tells me that the directory doesn't exist though I know it does, and in xp when I open the file (install-superboot-windows.bat) a window opens for a split second then disappears and nothing else happens. I think the xp problem may be to do with drivers because xp can't find the Pulse drivers automatically and when I try to install them manually from the pc suite directory they won't install then either. Could the xp driver problem be because I am running xp on a mac in boot camp? Finally, when I put the pulse in bootloader mode all I get is 4 lines of text with the last line being 'Serial Number: UNKNOWN, is that what it should be saying? Thanks.

Hi Mate, This is EXACTLY the same problem I had. I couldn't root mine on my Laptop running Vista. I tried one LAST time on my desktop upstairs this is how I did it (Desktop is running XP) Install PC Suite Connected phone while it was switched on PC located all drivers and installed automatically (ADB is loaded as Single Sooner ADB device...) Downloaded Superboot and extracted to desktop. Disconnected phone and reconnected it while SWITCHED OFF Switched on phone into Boot loader (the 4 lines of text are as I see it on mine - Unknown serial number also) double clicked on 'install superboot-windows' CMD window automatically opended and showed a few lines of text then dissaperared. Phone showed on screen @writing boot - OKAY' Pulled battery and USB cable rebooted phone normally and Quickboot and SU appeared therefore it MUST have worked. HTH.
Guest Theboyjones Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Hi, Thanks for the reply, it looks like I am doing everything right in xp so the problem must be a Pulse driver issue, because I am using a Mac I couldn't use the cd that came with the Pulse cos you can't use those small disks in the Macs drive so I downloaded the drivers instead, I suppose it is possible that the drivers I downloaded are not the correct ones so could some kind person please upload them somewhere for me so I can try again? Thanks

Thanks Hi Mate, I notice you live in Wales, maybe not far from me? I live in Abergavenny maybe you could do it here.
Guest Theboyjones Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Hi, thanks for the offer, I live in the rhondda, a bit too far but thanks for the offer anyway. I will use a friends pc (not a Mac), maybe it will install the drivers correctly and I can then root successfully. Cheers
