Guest SSH Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Thanks for this info, just seen the same on http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-sup...LOADS&tab=2 I'm new to modaco and the pulse, so any advice on the best way to back up the phone without too much hackery? And if anyone's applied this, does this fix the barcode reader problems, etc.? Thanks!
Guest Paul Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Oooh, interesting! Can anyone confirm this updates the baseband? P
Guest Shuflie Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Just be careful about flashing this. Maepro had flashed an update from the German T-Mobile site and from the looks of it he is having problems getting any other ROM to flash again properly. This may just lock you into t-mobile updates from now on.
Guest xangma Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 it's an ".APP" file. I was gonna investigate but it stumped me =[
Guest klutsh Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) I took the update Will test camera etc soon. [EDIT] Camera: Took a series of 20 images, no lines appeared. Portrait images still get rotated to landscape. No Geo-tagging. Barcode Scanner - Works (Always did for me though) Google Sync: Contacts - All or nothing, not able to select group of Contacts. Mail - Push seems to be working better. If you want anything else checking let me know, I'm due to wipe my PC soon, will then start re-rooting the Pulse. Edited December 14, 2009 by klutsh
Guest Paul Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Baseband looks to be the same, so no reason why I can't just extract this update and build MCR 1.5 on it... P
Guest klutsh Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Baseband looks to be the same, so no reason why I can't just extract this update and build MCR 1.5 on it... P Maybe you could pull the Google Sync stuff from the u8230, having all or nothing contacts sync is a pain in the a**
Guest Jason Patel Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Maybe you could pull the Google Sync stuff from the u8230, having all or nothing contacts sync is a pain in the a** Agreed, that is the main reason i went to the 1.1 custom ROM, preffer the pulse UI but cant have all my google contacts just too many.
Guest klutsh Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I just tried installer superboot (to get root) and the recovery image, now in endless reboot.
Guest le_lutin Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Does anyone know if shopsavvy now works with this update?
Guest mapero Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) I just tried installer superboot (to get root) and the recovery image, now in endless reboot. You have to use the kernel from the new T-Mob Rom. Than it will work again! Is it possible to extract something out of the APP file? Edited December 14, 2009 by mapero
Guest Paul Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I wonder why the custom kernel is making it reboot? ;) P
Guest xangma Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I wonder why the custom kernel is making it reboot? ;) P didn't we have to throw some RIL lib files in the system img?
Guest bounty123 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I'll have a look later on... P There's no way I'm getting back to the magenta look ;) I hope if there are any updated libs, those can be extracted and shipped to a new 8230 version ROM.
Guest Andy Sheppard Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Does anyone know if shopsavvy now works with this update? Yep, Shopsavvy now works on my phone.
Guest dac_kufer Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 what is better on this ROM???
Guest Jan M Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 There's no way I'm getting back to the magenta look ;) I hope if there are any updated libs, those can be extracted and shipped to a new 8230 version ROM. I second that.
Guest Timmmm Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Can anyone comment on the improved audio quality. Does it get rid of the hiss from the loudspeaker?
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) does this fix the bug when your listening or watching something on e.g. youtube then suddenly it starts to play your music from your library, that bug is really annoying Edited December 14, 2009 by Richard_Arkless
Guest meinnit Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Just be careful about flashing this. Maepro had flashed an update from the German T-Mobile site and from the looks of it he is having problems getting any other ROM to flash again properly. This may just lock you into t-mobile updates from now on. Has this been confirmed?
Guest Shuflie Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Has this been confirmed? Seems to have been confirmed a few posts back by Klutsh ;) I'd wait until the bugs with recovery and/or rooting are sorted out.
Guest zerosignull Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Can anybody who is running this comment on the battery life of the phone???
