Guest vinaymanro Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 The HTC HD2 has been updated once again. This time it is to do with messaging. The official description reads:-This update for HTC HD2 messaging lets you reach out to your friends and family with instant notifications. Keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers just that: fast and reliable SMS messaging. Some users have complained about not being notified audibly or visually when a new SMS was received. What is your experience with SMS notifications? Does this update help? Note: This update is only applicable to ROM version is equal to 1.49.XXX.X, or lower.Download the update here.
Guest timeline Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 The HD2 really sounds buggy, so many updates before it's hit the whole world market and still no guarantee of WM7
Guest paThaLim Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Is there a way HTC Leo would just auto update itself when it connects to the internet. HTC just keeps releasing updates for Leo almost every day, faster than Windows 7 updates.
Guest Sonicr360 Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I agree with Timeline. Alot of hype about a product that has been updated pretty early ! Can say I have never experienced this problem ... I do not own one, and from the sounds of it (what with the potential camera issue), why would I !
Guest richard_d Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Mine seems to work fine without the patch (1.48 English ROM). Good to see they're quick to fix these minor issues though.
Guest holybear Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I do not own one, and from the sounds of it (what with the potential camera issue), why would I !It's funny, even when a manufacturer does bring out quick updates, they're doing something wrong. As opposed to denying the problems, HTC fixed them. Many other manufacturers have had problems with their handsets and people were waiting for ages to even have the problem acknowledged. But with the HD2? Camera issue: fixed Messaging issue: didn't have it, but if I did, fixed. Seems they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. The HD2 is by far one of the most impressive handsets ever to come to WM, and the manufacturer is actively working to make it work perfectly. I really don't see what's so bad.
Guest agent.m Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 The HD2 really sounds buggy, so many updates before it's hit the whole world market and still no guarantee of WM7 haha sounds like they need the guys at xda developers to sort it out. They been using the rom for months now. So i take it the roms are less than perfect. I guess once HTC sort out the bugs then I can have a decent Leo rom on my diamond...thats if i dont trade it in.
Guest shutdown Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 the phone is amazing. the bugs are minor and htc have rolled out fixes pretty quickly. i'd say that makes it a great service and a great product. we all seem to demand perfection and will happily slay the company if it's not up to OUR standard. i was always happy with my old nokia N95 8GB, had the odd bug but i could live with them but this HD2 phone is amazing and am pleased with either the brilliant guys at XDA rolling out an update or HTC doing a patch. i could be lucky and don't have any of the major bugs, get the odd pink hue to the images on the camera but i'm a photographer so have a real camera to take photos with ;) Don't slay HTC, they've done a great job with Sense and they will roll out the patches in time. have a good xmas folks
Guest Sonicr360 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 HTC are ok as a brand, its a shame the OS isnt that good! But I hope the day comes that HTC start to "slowly" move away from MS, as I just do not think they are really allowing the Hardware of the HTC device to be fully used! Unless you are of course using an XDA-Dev Rom ;)
