In-call volume too loud - even turned all the way down

I can't remember if this was a problem or not before installing the December update, but does anyone else find the call volume (the volume of the other person speaking) really loud? Even when I turn it down to minimum volume during a call, it's way too loud.

Anyone know if it is possible to change this?

My Pulse is still in out of the box state with no updates/mods (not had time ;)!) but I noticed the same thing so I don't think it's a post update issue. Before I saw this I thought i'd just got so used to the diminishing sound of my 3year old W810i that it was my ears that were the problem... Not a major issue for me but hopefully there's a solution or app out there.

Hi again le_lutin, did you ever get anywhere with this? I have noticed this too after moving to 1.7 MCR vanilla (this might be co-oincedence). On mine it is causing distortion which makes it difficult to hear clearly even with the volume right down.

Thanks

I also had distortion problems with mine since I bought it, took it to repair shop today...

I had it even on the original ROM, so I don't think it's an issue with the custom ROM. It seems to be worse with some callers more than others. Never really resolved the issue though.

In noticed this too.. On my last phone i couldnt understand anything if there was a little background noise. Now it is too loud ><

For example my dad always shouts into his phone, and i always get distortions while calling him. Very annoying.

On the plus side, I like it better when it is too loud than the other way around :)

I have the same problem. Sometimes, the in-call volume is so loud that I have to use the phone as it is in loud-speaker mode. Otherwise it will blow my ear. This is in random occasion. Sometimes it's loud, sometimes not and it does not depend from the other caller. I will be very glad if there is solution, this is really annoying issue.

i always carry the included handsfree kit if it is an important call when i cannot just hang up and redial.

also, i seem to notice it on incoming calls and i cannot distinctly remember if it occurs on my outgoing calls.

im on tmobile style 1.7

I noticed this the other day when my friend had to speak louder than usual down the phone, as he was in a noisy environment.

I kept hammering the 'Volume Down' key, but it stayed at the same volume. I was confused at first, but thought it might be due to the MCR. As people with stock ROMs are reporting this also, I believe it might be something else.

Just had this issue occur on a call received. It was even louder then having it on Loudspeaker.

Anyone know of a fix?

I also get this problem every now and then, is there any hot key to switch this off/on during conversation?

Maybe you could download a volume app to control the volume? There are certain volumes that you can't change using stock Android software. Try Quick Settings.
