Trying to load files to my Hero

Just got a Hero on Orange.

Everything seems OK (even though the sync nonsense peeeeees me off)

One problem I seem to be having is...

When trying to add files (music and a few photos mainly) to my hero, connected by usb, The PC does not seem to find the sd card. On my PC (xp pro) it finds the hero and adds it as removable disk (K), but when trying to add files, windows says, please insert a disk into drive (K).

Now I have tried taking out the sd card and reinserting it, Hero says, preparing sd card etc.

Still no joy when trying to add files.

Anybody know how to help my frustrated head from exploding.

Thanks for looking.

Did you Mount your sd card? Drag down the notification from the phone and Mount.

try to repartition it. probably the partitioning or formatting is faulty, more unlikely but possible a broken sdcard.

It could just as easily have been that the click on "Mount" didn't register so it didn't get mounted. As it's currently working I would suggest leaving it for now and go down the repartition route if the problem reoccurs.

I have the same problem may times.

I mount my sdcard correctly but in a little bit, it go to unmount automatically

I've had a few problems here, too.

I mount, it appears in Windows (XP and 7) but after a few minutes (sometimes in the middle of transferring files) it unmounts, and disappears from windows.

Hasn't happened to me for about a week now. I couldn't narrow the problem down. Seemed to rely on luck.
