Guest pillock Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Hi all I've got my Hero running AOSP 2.0.1 from htcpedia.com - it's fantastic, like having a new phone again. Whilst I don't miss the Sense interface (much prefer stock Android), I do miss a few apps that it comes with. The biggest one is the Facebook and Flickr sync - when you install a Hero ROM it asks you to log in to FB and Flickr, and then there's a fair bit of integration - contacts list shows FB status, Album can view FB and Flickr albums etc. Is there any possibility to rip these functions from a Hero ROM, or perhaps a 3rd party application that does the same thing?
Guest venturerider Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 You might be able to find the apk files in any backups you made prior to flashing the new rom.
Guest pillock Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 I just wouldn't know what to move... for example, the Contacts showing status upgrades bit - is that from the Contacts apk, Facebook apk or what? How about the bit where you can tick a load of files and upload them to Flickr - is that HTCMediaUploader, or Gallery, or something else? Hmmmmmmm. I just can't work out if I'm better off with a Senseless 1.5, or AOSP 2.0.1. I'm a very 'bleeding edge' guy and it would pain me to drop back to a previous version, I love some of the new features and the battery life. But I do miss a few of the HTC tweaks ;)
Guest masterpfa Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Have to admit, this ROM is speedy with some nice features just how a Hero should be, lightning fast plus default Non Sense UI is not that bad at all. I had only installed it to get over the missing apps issue, but may have a play around again sometime! Right where was that NANDROID back up??? :)
