Hi,

I have searched for this but I cannot appear to find a solution. Basically, I got my Dad to recase my Omnia i900, because the old one was really quite damaged, although the phone worked fine.

Although the case is not OEM, it fits perfectly and looks very good!

But the touchscreen will not work at all. Nor will any of the buttons, i.e. the answer call and put down call ones, the mouse, or the camera/menu ones. The only one that will work is the on/off button. The only time any of the buttons work is where the backlight dims a little and you press it and it goes back to full brightness.

He is away for a few days so I was wondering whether it was a cable lose. He said something about it being difficult to get the backlight away from the screen. ON thinking about this, perhaps he has put the touchscreen in the wrong way or something, so that it doesn't work. The case does all fit fine however.

I have tried a soft reset, and no luck. I tried to do a hard reset, but as the buttons only work in one instance, this also doesn't work. I have tried all the remove battery etc too.

It's annoying not being able to use this phone, especially as it was working fine before. So I am just wondering is there something small that I am missing.

My theory is this, that the touchscreen has been installed incorrectly and it is always being pushed down. This then prevents any of the other buttons from working, except for that one instance of the backlight coming back. Since there is no way to tell where it is being pushed down, would I have to remove it and install the other way? I am not very good at electronics!

Could anyone see if the camera buttons of call buttons work when there is already something pushing down on the screen. I would try but obviously I can't ;)

Thank you so much for your help

Alex
