Guest bbdoc Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I didn't try bbconnect on my Omnia, but I have been using it on my HTC TYTN II in the past... the app is working fine IF this is the only mail you want to retrieve... My issue is that I wanted to retrieve mails from a BB service, in parrallel with my gmail account (IMAP) and an exchange server... and this sucks, because bbconnect needs to connect to a specific BB APN, and other mail services need to connect to your standard operator's APN, which means most of the time, you are simply not connected to the right APN and either one or the other service doesn't work... I worked-around using emoze in order to retrieve my company's mail over OWA (as they don't allow IMAP or POP, and I can only configure one exchange mailbox on my wm6.5) !

I tried that on mine, however nothing showed up on the programs screen except "blackberry lock"... have there been any new developments with this? I would really like to use BBM on my new omnia

Guest Billus Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 (edited) Hi. I have the HTC touch pro..how do I go about geting the blackberry mesenger software for my phone Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629941 You do need to have a Blackberry PIN or plan for this to work though. Edit: Is HTC not same operating system as omnia HTC don't make an Operating System. Both devices run Windows Mobile. The difference between the two is the hardware and pre-installed apps among other things. Both Samsung and HTC are phone manufacturers who manipulate the OS they put on their devices. The OS itself is made by Microsoft. Edited April 2, 2010 by Billus

I have downloaded a blackberry app for windows mobile, however since i am running on win 6.5 manila, upon installation, i get an error stating "uncertified system software", i was informed by the xda professionals to install the latest SDKCert. I did that but no success...Any advise?

I did that but no success...Any advise? I'm afraid it is not possible to get BBM working on WM. The apps you're talking about, Blackberry Connect, will only get you BB style push email. Problem is, requires either BES or BIS, and it connects to its own APN (or whatever you call it), only mail and pocketIE work with it. Sucks.... Blackberry application suite, would probably get you BBM, yet for start... it only allows BES, not BIS (apparently there where to versions, BAS personal, and BAS professional. Only professional got leaked). But even with BES, no one was able to pass the registration screen, and RIM abandoned the project. So...
