Hi!

I just discovered that it's something wrong with charge status. When my phone reach 99% charge level it won't go to 100% and stay at 99 as long as I keep it plugged in. Once I plug it out, it shows it's 100% charged and if put back the charger immediately it shows correct green light for been completely charged. Did wipe, wipe ext, wipe battery, wipe dalvik- nothing helped. Somebody with ideas?

Edit

Problem SOLVED

God, it took forever to reach for 1%...

If you're gonna ask for help from a community don't you think you should add to the knowledge base if you manage to find something new out? Don't just say "solved!" And then not explain!

i belive it was just one of those moments where , if u stare at a phone charging , waiting for a 1% change does take quiet a while.

If your phone never reaches 100% , probs a hardware issue (assuming you leave it on for the correct amount of time + a little surplus for charging error margins)

Sorry, but I've done nothing to resolve the problem, just waited and it reached 100%. Otherwise I would always inform you, that's the point of the forum.

Oops, sorry. Looks like I misread your post. Apologies. Bit embarrassed now...

I have always had this prob where it gets stock at 99% for 10min at the end no big deal though.

It's just down to battery chemistry and charging patterns.

If you look at the actual voltage of the battery pack, there's a 'full charge' voltage and a 'design' voltage. Your 'design' voltage might be 4500mV, but over time with repeated partial charging the maximum it can pack in might drop to 4350mV or something. The phone then treats this as 99%, and if you leave it in it tries to condition the cells to regain that extra 150mV. It might work, it might not, but batteries rarely show 100% until they're at their design voltage.

Once unplugged, to avoid consumer disappointment/extra 'faulty' returns, the phone will switch to reporting charge vs 'full charge' so it'll go to 100%. Just saves people thinking their batteries are faulty.

If you remember lead-acid batteries, it's like the 'smart' chargers that do a quick-charge, and then switch to a trickle-charge once it's showing almost full.
