Guest GuardianFlash Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) I have been following instructions from this page http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1523 Once I get to the step that says fastboot boot cm-hero-recovery.img It doesn't work. WTF am I doing wrong here? Someone suggested turn on my phone by holding down HOME+Power to get into recovery, I tried that but then adb shell mount /system would not work. I then go and try this flashrec thing here http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/27/how-to-ro...o-in-one-click/ When I go to the 10. Open the FlashRec program and click on Backup Recovery Image and wait for it to finish. It FAILS Somewhere there it suggests downgrade my phone and then try that flashrec again, but then HTC sync would not see my phone. I installed drivers for windows 7 64bit already and my computer reads My HTC but HTC sync would not see my phone and my phone does not detect HTC sync. I am going crazy. Guest falconeSG Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 You need to use the GoldCard method described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581981 this is the only way to root the HERO130(the one distributed by Telus) that worked for me.

I second this. I was only able to root my HERO130 after creating a gold card and flashing a 2.73.405.38 RUU onto my phone.
