Hello,

after many experiments I have to say I'm not completely happy with the sound quality for the omnia and I can't understand if it's my bad or not.

First I was using srs wow + media player, but then I noticed that the core player equalizer is much better and I have removed wow.

The point is that I really enjoy deep basses and it seems like the omnia is very keen to make awful distortions if I tweak the basses too much. Do you have any solution for this? Is it possible it's because of my earphones, even if at low volume I can still hear distortions?

Thank you for your suggestions ;)

Depends on what your speakers or headphones can handle. The stock Omnia headphones are pretty decent in my opinion but they aren't as good as high quality Sony or Sennheiser, in the ear style which can play and high volume without any distortion. I've hooked up my phone to a few stereo systems and it had no trouble handling the bass. Seriously, WM phones (with WOW) are probably one of the best music players on the market sound wise. Your iPods and iPhones are pure crap for playing music, it's just that the crowd seems to follow Apples poop.

Other things I can think of is the quality of your music. Anything pretty much under 320kbps is going to sound pretty bad especially when playing around with the equalizers.

thank you very much, I need to test it on something more powerful than my cheap earphones then (I have the samsung default ones too, but I'm not satisfied with them)

aye, i've never had a n issue with sound quality, even the speakerphone is decent. i have a pair of earbuds that are heavy on the bass (V-Moda Bass Freq.) and using Nitrogen and its equalizer i get pretty great sound for a phone. given distortion at low volumes too, i'll add another vote for a problem with the headphones.

on the 320kpbs comment: that quality is useless without some stellar audio processing/output (won't find that in phones) or some generally expensive speakers/headphones. running a $100 sound card and $130 paid of headphones on my PC is the only time i've noticed much of a difference, and its not much unless i'm at the point of blowing my eardrums.
