Guest flash2004 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) I am running a 1.5 MCR stock tmob style (superboot+recovery). I also have ES File explorer. Can somebody guide me how to upgrade touchpal keyboard from 1.0 to 1.1 ? 1.0 is very buggy.... Edited December 18, 2009 by flash2004

Guest rjm2k Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 you need to rename the .zip files to .apk, but it just force closes on my pulse, might be that it's the version for 1.6 ?

Any idea how to find out what version is currently installed? thx! (have looked in app mgr and touchpal props)
Guest Bigsy Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Same issue here, it just gets stuck in a force close loop. Does anyone have a working cupcake version?
Guest starkos Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Same issue here, it just gets stuck in a force close loop. Does anyone have a working cupcake version? Are you referring to the HTC or Touchpal one? I've just installed both, but didn't bother to try & use Touchpal 1.10 as the build number under "Locale & text" was lower than that of the Touchpal version that came with Paul's U8230 custom rom and therefore deleted it. The HTC one works fine, I found it easier to hit the keys in full qwerty than Touchpal but it also occasionally lagged a lil so will test it out for a few days and see...
Guest Bigsy Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 The HTC_IME one. I can't install it at all unless I install clicker.apk first but even though it will install then it just force quits constantly as soon as I select it for input. I'm on pauls u8230 btw. I can only think I have a donut version, may I ask where you downloaded it from?

Guest Bigsy Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Thanks 'll give it another go in a bit. Is there any reason why you didn't use the HTC_IME from the second link? Also did you run calibration? Just trying to understand why I'm seeing different results. EDIT: Ahh there appears to be a lib file (libt9.so) with this HTC_IME.zip from the first link.....where does this go? I certainly didnt do anything with that last time. Didn't use one from second link coz that thread says it's the one for Donut. Don't think you u need the libt9.so file as i tried it before installing it and it worked but I have installed it now, I placed it here /system/lib/libt9.so according to instructions I found on this website http://haykuro.theiphoneproject.org/ When you install calibration it just adds it as a menu in the settings of the keyboard, I haven't personally felt the need to use it so far. To be honest you'll prob just end up going back to touchpal anyway lol
Guest flash2004 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Ok.......heres the link for cupcake version of HTC Keyboard.. Works fine for me (with a little lag though) http://www.mediafire.com/?tmm3tymgdzz But since the whole OS is working slow for me.. I guess it is a system wide issue
