anyone know if this would be possible using the SPV handset mic.

Would be great for SMS, MSN messenger and URL's.

I find the SPV keys a real pain.

Should be possible but I think it will be very unlikely to appear. Just think of the amount of storage space that would be required to hold the speech samples required to recognise an individual.
