Guest nagylebowski Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Hi folks, I've just decided to root my T-mobile Pulse, but sadly I noticed that there is a new version of software, and I've installed it. Now I've read tons of tutors and forums looking for some way to root my phone, but whatever I do it just doesn't work. Can you give a clear answer what should I do? I can't reinstall the original software either. Is rooting possible for me, or just throw my brand new piece of -plastic- to the river? Thanx
Guest blaze23 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 firstly, superboot and hence rooting is currently incompatible with the december update, i dont know why, but, its not! however, this isnt realy an issue. im assuming your reason for rooting the pulse is to install mcr? if so you do not need to root the phone, and once you have mcr installed you phone WILL have root access. im not entirely sure, but from your post i take it that you had trouble tring to root it. i would suggest downloading the december update from tmobiles website, putting the dload folder on your sd card, and booting the phoen whilst holding volume up and end call, this will restore your pulse to factory settings. once you have done this and completed the initial set up, download the pulse recovery enviroment from here http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...on-your-device/ and install it. then download mcr v1.5 and the december patch from here http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...t-mobile-style/ . place the two zip files on your sd card. once you have done this, boot into the recovery enviroment from earlier by following the information in the last few posts here: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/294...om-rom/page/60/ . then install mcr and the december patch using flash zip from sd card. once youve done all of that, you should end up with a rooted, apps2sd enabled pulse running mcr v1.5. ;)
Guest nagylebowski Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 thanks for the detailed answer, but my pc is f*cking around with the drivers and it hasn't been recognised my phone, but when this is done, I'll probably try how you just said, thank you
Guest Jan M Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 my pc is f*cking around with the drivers and it hasn't been recognised my phone regedit.exe search for 'huawei' and delete all corresponding keys reboot run setup.exe from the CD to install PC Suite & drivers OR extract the drivers from the CD using 7-zip connect the phone and manually locate the drivers
Guest nagylebowski Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 okay, doesn't work, if I don't install superboot it can boot and works okay,i installed the recovery tool but quckboot says i have no root access... Any other guess? jan m: The problem is that there is no compatible driver for my system (win7 intel 64bit), but i tried how you adviced, but did nothing, just turned t-mobile 3g phone into unrecognized device, but no prob with xp it recognised well.

You are pressing the wrong buttons, press "MENU + RED BUTTON" not "VOL - and RED BUTTON"

Guest crossfire101 Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) Problem is quick boot requires root access and you need to get into recovery mode before you get root access? Edited December 28, 2009 by crossfire101
Guest Shuflie Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Problem is quick boot requires root access and you need to get into recovery mode before you get root access? If you have the december update applied and recovery image flashed then power on with menu and call end buttons held, no need to use quick boot.
