My Problems with Apps2SD

Hey Guys,

Recently went into the custom ROM stuff and had app2sd applied by using the patched recovery image file to partition my stock 2GB SD Card supplied with phone.

At first it was all ok, phone showing 61MB, and had successful installed many different apps. But for some reason I cannot install any apps no more, everytime i download an app from the market it shows "Installation Error".

I then went to wipe the partitions and reapply the custom ROM update (this is the 1.5 Modaco Custom ROM). Again at first apps were installed properly with no problem. But after some time, this installation error situation restarts and I cannot download any more apps.

Anyone else have this kind of problem? any way to resolve it?

Cheers

Yep, I often get this after flashing custom images.

Boot the recovery partition and choose "repair ext filesystem". That usually does it for me.

I had this problem multiple times today. Fixed it eventually with an ext repair, but I've read elsewhere on here that some people are having this problem every time they reboot. What is your experience with this?

This problem doesnt happen straight away after rebooting the phone, it happens later after using the phone alot.

But I've read somewhere that installing CacheMate and using it to clear the cache helps resolve this problem without rebooting the phone, and it actually works for me when the problem arose again.

I'm going to get a class 6 card to replace the stock one soon, which i hope will get rid of the problem entirely.

Well, it happened on my brother's phone today at least six times - and that was with a brand new 8GB Class 6 card :)

Same problems here with 8Gb Class 6. I have decided to remove the ext partition and install apps to the phone until this problem is resolved.
